Somebody had to go first! How does your program use the “Accompanied Consultant” field in OIS? Is is for any visit with multiple consultants (like trainees), or do you restrict use to supervisors for on-the-job evaluations? Out program has traditionally restricted this to supervisors, but I am wondering if that’s the best use…
Pennsylvania uses that OIS field for both; we have a new consultant trainee then the senior consultant will add their name when uploading visit date to OIS. We also use it to document the planned/required accompanied visits of the consultants with their supervisors.
There are times our Region 3 RPO will accompany one of our consultants in the field, and we document that in the same OIS field as well.
Thanks, John! I appreciate the reply!
Now I’m curious – I’ve never heard of RPOs conducting accompanied visits. Is this something planned and scheduled regularly? (Part of your IQAP?) Does it only happen with visits near the regional office? Inquiring minds want to know! 🙂
We use it for trainees and supervisors. You can extract this data in one of the two visit scan reports if memory serves.
Hi Ranzy – The RPO has asked to accompany us as part of the biennial review to ensure continued quality of delivered visit services. Doesn’t happen every Region review, just once in a while.
